Welcome

Imperial Yacht Club is a family orientated sailing club situated on the shores of Zandvlei, Lakeside. The club provides training for novice sailors through SASA accredit Novice 1 and 2 sailing course. See our training page for more details. IYC also has a dedicated fleet of Dabchick, Laser and Sonnet and Mirror sailors.

Racing is held every Sunday from late August to early September, when the club re-opens after the off-season, and continues until late May when we have our Closing Cruise and Annual Prize Giving and AGM.

Household Recycled Rule: This race is an initiative by Southern Wind Shipyard in aid of the Whisper Boat Building Academy – School for the Deaf in Kayalitsha. The event date is on the 18th of April 2010 to be sailed at the Devonvale Golf Estate in Somerset West. The entry form and official class rules are here.
